Centre County sits in a limestone valley surrounded by ridges, and that geography does specific things to a roof that a generic checklist would miss. Wind funnels differently depending on which side of a ridge a property sits on, snow load varies noticeably between the valley floor and the higher ground toward Boalsburg and Philipsburg, and the freeze-thaw cycles that come with a Pennsylvania winter stress flashing and eaves in a way that milder climates never see.
